Speaker: Leanne Kenealy, Plant Breeding and Nursery Technician, JC Raulston Arboretum

In this class-style presentation we’ll learn the basics of home propagation. From collecting and germinating seedlings to taking the perfect cuttings, this demonstration will show us the ins and outs of the best timing, environments and temperatures to replicate our favorite plants instead of spending money to buy them! The tools and methods for making a duplicate of that heirloom plant in your garden are all here. Join in to learn about the magic of home propagation.

Leanne Kenealy is the Nursery Technician at JC Raulston Arboretum, where she gets to perfect her propagation skills with plants from all over the world including those in Dr. Denny Werner’s redbud breeding program. She received her Master’s in Horticulture from Clemson University where she specialized in peach breeding and propagation. From there she worked as Production Manager at Moore Farms Botanical Garden in Lake City, SC for over three years where her love of all things green grew even further.
