Erica 2.JPG

Bring the special beauty of Nature and a whimsical romance to your holiday decorating with ideas inspired by the garden. Come get some "re-inspiration" to have FUN decorating for the holidays to celebrate our homes, our gardens, and our memories. In this FUN informative demonstration,Erica Winston will share design ideas and a few tricks of the trade she has gathered over the years as an Award Winning Floral Designer and Flower Show Judge.

Erica Winston joined the RGC in 1998, making this her 20th year as a member. She has been active, holding Board positions in the Club every year and participating in many of the Club's activities. She began studying Floral Design with the club and continued on to National Garden Club's Flower Show School, and has won many awards for her designs. She has taught aspects of Floral Design at the Piedmont East Judges Council, the RGC, the Camellia Society, and at the Wake County Public Library. Erica is fortunate to be gardening in one of the last remnants of the historical Piedmont forest, just west of the Swift Creek Bluffs Nature Preserve.  Towering beeches cling to the 100-foot bluffs rising abruptly from Swift Creek where ferns, moss and spring ephemerals are the mainstay of her garden.

Extra: We will sell raffle tickets for the lucky winners to take home a holiday arrangement, and Ways & Means will sponsor a Bake Sale Silent Auction — bid on items baked and donated by members!

Lunch menu:  Pecan crusted boneless pork cutlet, mixed green salad, buttered new potatoes, honey glazed carrots, rolls, member provided dessert, iced tea, coffee, and water
